Insightful post. Musk has successfully built a cult around his personal brand, for the specific reason of super-charging his ability to raise capital. A poster above provides news coverage about him memorizing rocket science books. I suspect

My grandfather, an owner of an African Grey Parrot, died in his early 80s. His final years were marked by lung disease and a hacking cough. After he died, it was always a bit weird to visit my grandmother as, for the remainder of his life,

I’ve known several soldiers over the years and all had struggles with depression and possibly PTSD. I obviously wouldn’t want to present these limited data points as conclusive evidence, but I’ve been struck by the extent to which combatant

The gyst of Grantham’s essay which I posted below (also at the bottom of this comment), throws into question that optimism. With evidence, Grantham demonstrates the possibility that a nexus of climate change, soil degradation and population

I’m an African, I’ve lived all over the continent (until very recently). What you say is correct. By many metrics life has improved, and that is to be celebrated. But internally, I’m a bit conflicted because for sure this development has al

As a fellow European and salad purist, I believe olive oil and salt is the only respectable dressing for a salad. Balsamic vinegar may be acceptable in some circles, but personally I see little point. Ditto lemon juice. ;-)

Good point. VCs are looking for outsize returns. Older founders, who can’t spread their risk like a VC, are pursuing more predictable businesses but which are therefore probably lower profile and lower return.
