Those applications you mentioned all have a different purpose. WA and FB share the same: communication. Effectively they have almost everyone in their ecosystem now which (hopefully) is an antitrust case waiting to happen.

The sword cuts both ways. Meanwhile I'm 23, working in a webdeveloper job (not in the US, mind you) and housing is completely inaccessible to me. It seems like real estate owners value age over anything. I've been looking for 4 mo

Yeah, that's really nice, but as long as other email clients still are ie6 equivalent as far as support goes you can't really rely on this.

We're currently moving to the Atlassian stack, from Bitbucket to Jira to Confluence. I really want to switch over to Gitlab reading this but the sunk cost is too huge already...

Frontend dev here, I feel the same about my place of work. we are an agency with ~150 clients, all working on the same opensource system (that we extend). Day to day you keep doing the same things, install module X, style item Y, but it fee

I disagree. Using Git (or any terminal interaction for that matter) is much like speaking a language. As a metaphor: you might be able to order two beers in German (zwei Bier bitte), but the moment the waitress asks you what brand you want

I pay around 4,5% in the Netherlands, with the smallest 'own risk'. I don't know the English term for it, but if anything happens the first €350 in healthcare costs for the year are on me (excluding family doctor visits). I c

I´ll look into this, thanks. I brought accessibility up in the last dev meeting, and it got dismissed for the same reasons as in point 3 of the article. Really frustrating.
