I liked the homepage and the only reason I am not subscribing to the "Globetrotter prepaid 12 months" plan is that I don't have kids yet. This is such a good idea imo.

That just sounds like poor performing developers to me. You don't need snazzy animations between states. Just not reloading the full page is a benefit.

I don't think the stock price reflects that too much. You can't attribute the doubling to workers being at home. If it dipped when workers went back to the office.. that also would not mean much.

I am only 2 mins into the first video but I am hyped - thanks for posting this!

No solution but I am similar. I don't retain anything when trying to learn languages.

I like WFH and remote working but unfortunately a lot of companies did not really embrace remote working properly. They didn't embrace async communication methods. They deployed tools that required constant attention and showed status

Is this just an American thing? I don't think tech companies can fire like this in Europe. I have 100% worked in companies that used PIP processes which had nothing to do with firing staff.

I dislike Twitter but I am glad it exists. More spaces need to exist on the Internet.

Wow, that's impressive. After figuring out the game I got 8 shapes which I thought was good!

Oh I see, your main issue wasn't with the UI design, it was with the UX design. The original intention was that it acted as a gateway to content on the internet - like with Google. Unfortunately that UX isn't the best because most

I feel sorry for your wife. I know a lot of people put a lot of time into their Instagram accounts and sometimes it may contain the only version of photos/stories that exist. It's easily dismiss-able by posters here who don't

That is true and, hypocritically, I am doing the same thing with a non-game, non-wordle web app.

Was there anything in particular you disliked about reddits 'old' design? How would you compare it to HNs design?

When will the wordle clones subside? This one, like some others, isn't bad but it's not good either.Everyone plays Wordle and it's unlikely any of these clones will take its place. If you want to make a personal project then

I'd imagine you're an outlier on HN by using Pinboard. It seems to get a lot of hate here since it ranks so highly on Google search and the results are mostly garbage.

I am not prepared really. I don't see how anyone can be suitably prepared for a recession where there is inflation. Any stock you have will go down, any property you own will go down, financial institutions will lend out less, any cash

Nothing until lunch most days. I could eat but I just don't need to really. If I do want something I have one of the following banana, yogurt, oats (with seeds and/or nut butter).

I haven't thought about this before. I would assess what Mozilla's current goals are and where Firefox market share fits into that.

I found that I always had way too many tabs open. My brain can only hold a handful of tabs in my memory. I switch tabs using the Open Editors section which can be accessed by pressing Control + Tab (on a mac)
