It's a political story and is thus likely to be flagged as off-topic by a large number of people. Unless a political story has a strong tech slant, expect it to disappear off the front page quickly no mater how many upvotes it gets.

You can turn off loading images by default on the web-based Gmail client under the general tab in settings. It's not possible to disable loading of images on the iOS Gmail client.

I use a user script called Google Hit Hider by Domain that adds this functionality to pretty much every major search engine. Can't imagine searching without it these days.

Is there something special that needs to be done to configure it? Every time I go over 50,000 I get a red warning at the bottom of the AdGuard filters setting screen telling me that I'm over the limit.

The problem is with the limit on the number of filters. On desktop Firefox I have ~120,000 network filters active on uBlock. Safari on iOS limits the number of filters an adblocker can have active to 50,000 and Google are proposing limiting
