Oh, I'm the last one to start a call like that, because I know how bad it is to get stopped in your tracks and diverted when you're on a roll. Not that calls and conversations can't be useful, I just... don't like it whe

Sounds like you should be running Red Hat, not Fedora. RHEL has a 10 year support cycle, so you can wait for technologies to mature before you migrate to them.

FWIW, the 64-bit part is new, but TCM and fast/bounded interrupt response are features available in past and present Cortex-R and Cortex-M devices. If you want to play with this stuff now and don't need a 64-bit device, there are

That's not true, classic Mac OS used a cooperative multitasking model, where processes had to be friendly enough to yield control back to the system / other processes to allow them to do work. A poorly programmed or greedy process

As a customer, it's a painful experience when you realize the support people are in this position. I can't be mad at them, they're friendly and personable and they at least pretend to want to help, but it's obvious that

Is college actually good at that sort of thing, or is it just better than staying at home? If I spent half my college tuition on networking, social clubs, conferences, hobby groups, etc, I bet I could do a lot better than I did at my colleg

Hmm, I was going to say that digikey has 3 or 4 dollar shipping, but I checked and it's $5 for a first class mail. Maybe they've changed it, or maybe it's COVID-related. I recall that they had a low price for shipping of a sm

I always get a kick out of analogies on HN. When there’s a technical concept being discussed, someone will make a non-technical analogy. When there’s a non-technical concept being discussed, someone will make a technical analogy. And it’s a

Jim Salter has been doing a series of Linux distro reviews, so the title ties into that, even if Haiku being a BeOS distro (or Haiku distro?) is a little questionable.

On a mac you'd use Control-A and Control-E to navigate to the beginning and end of a line. IIRC Home and End navigate the document, not the line. https://support.apple.com/en-ca/HT201236

I chose the mux-based approach because it has the better area*delay product, but it might be interesting to implement the mask-based design to see how it works out on my FPGA.

Individually resizable schematic symbols are not typically needed. I think that feature would baffle experienced EDA users, and trip up new users. You almost certainly want symbols of a fixed size, drawn on a zoomable canvas.
