That's fascinating. What would a good emergency vehicle siren sound like?

Can't be right at all. Photo flash capacitors store hundreds of joules, and if you short them out all you get is a fairly exciting * pow* . Lightning strikes light trees on fire, melt sand, vaporize metal..

Yeah, it's great, and that's not the only one. Mac OS supports a whole bunch of emacs style text editing commands. I wish I could replicate in Linux.

I felt it worked as a reference. Yeah, it might explain something using concepts you don't understand, but you can backtrack as far as necessary, then start working your way back to where you started.

That is one of the goals of the new KiCAD DRC system. I really hope it pans out, because it's a great idea and ought to reduce friction for designers.

I think that's right. I found some envelopes at work with design documents for similar looking boards, and that's how they were made. Drawn on paper, laid out on clear film with tape and adhesive transfer pads, and photographicall

The context of that quote was alpine climbing. FWIW though, the local gym here is $70/mo and a day pass isn't cheap either. I'd love to join, but that's just too much for me.

What is your truck? RAM 3500s with Cummins diesels come in 7000lb configurations, but we're talking ~15mpg, nowhere close to a countryman.

I've been doing some test runs with HP multijet fusion prints, and I think that would be a great technology to use for case like this. You likely would need a couple-few tries to get it right, but it cleans up very nicely. I really d

I like making stupid suggestions in brainstorming sessions. They make people laugh, they can help defuse things a bit, and on occasion, people say "wait... that's actually not a terrible idea" and it grows into something.

That's a neat idea, especially if you could set it up to do practice QSOs. iirc back in the day there were some programs that allowed you to connect a key/paddle to your computer by abusing the serial port.
