IME (I led offshore teams of Indian devs for years), the quality of the in-house training TCS/Infosys/Cognizant/Capgemini etc provide for employees is... poor. They seem to focus on quantity over quality, presumably so devs h

Stripe have macro-level funding and profits; you can't compare an enormous company to an individual.

IIRC, it didn't used to give you any control over import/export, and only supported using an opaque Google storage option. Has that changed? Aegis gives me the actual seed, full control of the data so I can do with it as I please.

I switched to Aegis recently, and I did it for only 2 reasons: 1) I prefer to use OSS when possible 2) Aegis supports import/export/backup - so if I get a new phone, I don't have to spend days setting up my dozens of accoun

I don't see any mention on the website on how it compares to Loki, which is surprising since it looks like a very similar model?

Well of course, but I don't feel like this is a noteworthy limitation here; it applies to any form of queue that persists messages. I had imagined the GP might have been insinuating something like: a configurable number of WAL files wo

The way I've ways seen LISTEN/NOTIFY used is just to send a "hey, there are items available in the queue!" signal to consumers. I take your point though, that WAL is less limiting in this regard.

Won't it just... write more WAL files?

It would catch up by reading the WAL files when it restarted - using this method, the WAL files will remain on disk until they've been read.

Which way do you mean, using WAL or Publish/Notify?

Thought this was an interesting approach, rather than the more well-known `LISTEN`/`NOTIFY` pub/sub mechanism!

I tend to do this, if only to prevent logs being constantly spammed by bots - it results in more useful logs with much less noise.

Erm... why not? Everyone knows cloud providers are gouging customers on egress bandwidth fees, it's great that someone bucks the trend and calls them out on it.

When did that happen? Last time I tried, stable only allowed like 3 extensions, none of which was uBlock, so I've been using Nightly ever since.

Nightly is the only build where you can use extensions, which IMO is the reason to use FF on mobile :(

Ah, sorry, that really should have been obvious :D Have you looked into using eBPF for tracking file system changes at any point? (I don't mean for this project, as it's clear you're taking a particular approach that will wor

How does this work under the covers on Linux? Is it using eBPF, or is it simply an abstraction over inotify? I'm particularly interested in something like this, but which will include information about what process made the change, and

Does it work with Rider yet? At launch it didn't, something to do with Rider using (or not, I forget!) an out of process language server.

I used to like the Windows Phone UX too, I had it on a few phones over a period of time back in the day. But, all of the phones I had used to crash pretty regularly, rock solid it was not! Still, I miss it!

Anyone able to provide some info on why this type of engine might be "better"? Is it's use likely to become widespread? Can it be scaled up to propel larger craft?

I did the same thing, but with Linux and Windows build agents - it's so nice having a fast feedback cycle again!
