Mushrooms have wildly varying potencies. Even if they are cloned and grown in the same batch there will be variance and some people like knowing the precise dose they will get. People also complain about mushrooms causing nausea which is pa

I second this. It definitely has some issues and I wouldn't recommend it just yet for people that aren't willing to tinker with it but at least you can tinker with it and I haven't had a problem yet that I don't think a

I'm not a big fan of SF and have only been twice but I see the appeal. There are a ton of job opportunities for tech workers (yes, there are a ton of opportunities for SWEs just about everywhere but SF is another level, especially if y

In base 10, the times tables for 2 and 5 are easy because they divide 10. If I want 2*7, I know 7/5 is 1 remainder 2 so it's 10+2*2=14. As for 5x7, I know 7/2 is 3 remainder 1 so it's 30+1*5=35. In base 12, there are sim

Sorry for mistyping a word. Don't think I can edit it now. And yeah, I can't predict the future and I don't know the specific housing you're looking at so I can't know for a fact what those precise numbers will be.

It isn't always speculation and doesn't have to be speculation. Here's a model of what that might look like: I buy a house for $500,000. I know property taxes + repairs/depreciation + the amount of time I spend interacti

1 and 0 are still 1 and 0 regardless of the base. Pi=10_pi since it's the base. 2 and 3 are still 2_pi and 3_pi since they are less than pi. Things get weird when you start going above pi. For example, the number 4 would be written 10.

The space container idea could make for a really interesting book plot. It starts in modern day where they send the capsule up. Then skips forward several hundred years to society collapsing. Then skip forward a few hundred more to see how

CO2 gets 73% of its mass from the oxygen it uses for combustion and not from the carbon in the gas (which is something like 85% of the weight of gas). So take that 133lbs multiply by 0.85 and divide by 0.27 and you get 356lbs or 71lbs per 1

2 is a lot smaller of a number than I remembered but I looked at the regulations in the way back machine and it looks like it's been that way for a while. I kind of wonder why they'd have it at such a low number.

There is still plenty of decision making. For any scramble, there are usually a few dozen ways that make sense to make a cross. A top cuber may choose a slightly slower way to do the cross to make the first f2l pair easier (or even solve th

Luck can and does play a role. The official regulations for scrambling do require an optimum solution of >x moves. It doesn't take into account solving technique though as that's not really feasible. A scramble might be conside

I've heard of colorblind cubers using alternative color schemes that have more contrast for helping them distinguish colors. WCA also allows textured cubes for blind solvers (obviously these aren't allowed in the blindfold event)

One that I've always thought is really cool since I heard about it is the base of street signs. Instead of being cemented into the ground, signs are commonly bolted to a base so that they'll break away when hit. Some even have an
