I have a friend that did a whitespace compiler for .NET a couple of years ago[0]. I think I remember him saying that he even received bug reports from some guys at some point ! [0] http://spacesharp.batard.info/

Iliad/Free is nice as an "agitateur", but not everything is pink int Iliad-land. Yes, they promised and delivered unlimited calls and texts, but with a launch which was relying on 90% on the main French provider (Orange) and

This is implementation dependent. In the JVM and the .NET VM, you can't handle it cleanly.

Thanks for pointing that out, I went and did set the url to a blank string as mentionned in their documentation. (safebrowsing.appRepURL for the curious)

AFAIK, every bank (including for instance Paypal) charges a fee for conversion. At least, it's the case with my French and my Dutch bank. That's one of the great benefit of the Euro when shopping in the EU (well, except for our Br

FYI, next version will have a JSON-based project file (whether this is better or not is left as an exercise to the reader).

I would recommend http://clever-cloud.com/ I use it for Node deployment, but they also host ruby, php, go and java apps.

Parrot is built by a French company. In French, distortion is spelled distorsion. You should not look any further for the reason of the mistake, which is (very) hard to spot for a Frenchman.

I work for a company where we still have customers using IE 7, so I know what you mean. But no, I don't want to develop only for Chrome, and these days, you see a lot of that happening on "cool tech", even when there is the e

Surely, you mean, most developers only care about compatibility with Chrome ?

This is definitely changing, but slowly, yes.

Well, France not so much prefers as is forced to listen to dubbed. But this is (slowly) changing, you now start to have major TV channels broadcasting TV series and Films in both French dubbed version and Original Version with subtitles. No

I did visit Gruyère but I did not visit the museum. I did visit the bar though and I also recommend it, in particular for the chairs ;) That said, I thought it was very funny to have this museum in the middle of this (small) medieval town.

AFAIK, LINQ-To-SQL is deprecated. And I seen you already have a quality answer here and on stackoverflow to your question. EF has its fair share of issues and limitations, but that's not one of them.

Can't blame you. I have to admit I thought several times to modify a few things that bother me (e.g. to have a mobile-friendly version), but just the thought it's PHP pushed me away ...

Oh, I want to thank you for Gregarius. I still use it to this day and haven't found any replacement I like so far (tiny tiny rss just did not cut it last time I checked, a year ago). May I ask why you decided to stop development ?

I totally agree with the author. Worse is, when answering to the question what do you use for version control software, I hear quite often people saying "github" and not git, and not understanding the difference between the two.

This is nothing unusual when you do SaaS aimed at business customers. We have to support IE7 on some of our software, only dropping IE6 a year ago or so ... Other software minimum requirements is IE8, hoping to drop it by the end of this ye
