Different people optimize for different things. I have a 450 mile trip (each way) next weekend. I can do it in 1 full tank of gas, but realistically I’ll stop once to fill up halfway. I don’t plan any other stops. If I had an EV, I’d probab

I’ve worked remote for at least 16 of the past 22 years including my first job out college. It’s always been friggin awesome. The only downside was when I was contracting and I’d get calls in the middle of dinner and I didn’t have the self-

Despite the latest and greatest models…I still see glaring logic errors in the code produced in anything beyond basic CRUD apps. They still make up fields that don’t exist, assign a value to a variable that is nonsensical. I’ll give you an

It's just time to kill the MD-11 entirely. These 3-engine aircraft are too risky to continue flying.

Just say you don't want to use .NET. It's fine, but how many startups ever get to over 10k containers? You can use AOT to further reduce the footprint. It's totally fine to hate Microsoft, but this is as weak an argument as

Recommended by whom? I've been doing .NET for 23 years (since the first beta) and I've never paid for a single library in any commercial project I've been part of.

I certainly didn't see this coming in 2014 when I paid $800+ and installed them. If they'd have said hey $5/year for each to keep them going, I'd have begrudgingly paid it and carried on...but now, Google will never get

I can't express how much damage Google has done to its reputation in my mind with how they EOL'd the online functionality of these devices. I have 3 of them. I will never buy a Google device of any kind ever again.

I don't necessarily need an electric place to work. Smart people and a boring mission/tech stack is fine. I just think their layoff(s) in disguise when they forced everyone to RTO is/was a slap in the face. Instant, permanent

Best decision I ever made was repeatedly ignoring emails from Amazon recruiters while they were allowing remote work around the pandemic. Fuck that place.

As a .NET developer for 20+ years I’m down to my last Windows box - a gaming rig I pretend I have time to play on. Everything else is a Mac.

I've just gotten the email and downgraded to the Essential plan for online Xbox gaming...which I'm not 100% sure I still need. Seems silly and short-sighted on Microsoft's part.
