What kind of issues? I just set up a very home tier NAS setup for my home server. Got a 4 bay usb hard drive enclosure and then just set up a btrfs raid array since my drives are all different speeds and capacities. The thing is only about

Yes piracy costs less than paying for content. You could also just use a standard usb HDD to torrent to, or even stream torrents for free. A more fair comparison is this nas vs another brands nas. Or compared to S3 if you just need a place

Yes if the flatpak sandboxing is enabled. A flatpak can just request access to anything, the software store thing shows a bunch of scary warnings when they do this but many users probably ignore them.

That doesn’t really make sense with the point of the article being that someone could be spending less than 30% of their income on rent and still not have enough for their other expenses. If it was just rent being too high they would be ove

Presumably when the power consumption costs more than the cost of replacement. It’s not so much that these GPUs stop working after 3 years, but that newer GPUs can handle more requests with less power for the same purchase price. So the use

They are also likely overestimating the useful lifespan of the hardware. They keep extending the number of years on the GPUs to make the accounting look better.

Gemini is fairly well used in business, anyone using the Google office suite uses Gemini. Grok is only used when you want to sexually harass people on Twitter.

You still can get taxis, at least in Australia. And they hound you at the front of the airport. They just consistently cost more and have worse service even after uber increased prices.

That's the thing that gets me about all this car tech. The actual car will last far longer than the tech stuff will be supported. I suspect it's done intentionally to help phase out old cars faster by making them less functional.

Why does a car even need an app? Don't they have a screen and internet connection on the car itself?

If they cut down on R&D they will be no better than the open source models you can run at cost yourself.

I remember what feels like forever ago hearing that truck driving is basically solved and there won't be any human truck drivers soon. Yet now more than 10 years later trucks are still driven by humans.

The hate Gen Z has for AI products and companies is intense. And they will look at you like a lesser person for using any AI product.

Sure if you are in a strong stable position in life you can do that. The average person doesn’t want to rock the boat and cause troubles in their life so they install the invasive mdm profile. It needs to be made illegal imo. The company sh

Or youtube. The youtube video essays can still be way too much waffle, but it's at least capped out at about 30 minutes and cost you nothing so you can quit if it's not useful.

Did he really win? His kids all hate him, his wives all left him, he has no real friends. Anyone he interacts with is purely after money and power they can get from him. He spends all day being angry on twitter.com. Is that winning?

I can imagine most people who would use this would also own a regular phone. Personally I have a couple apps like this that I would be fine on a phone I leave at home while on the go I only need messaging, maps, and uber.

It's appealing to the y2k and fruitger aero aesthetic. All the people on the street right now in baggy camo pants with a bag full of tech like mp3 players and digicams would buy this thing up.

I hate how common it's become for companies to force you to install things on your personal phone. Even worse is some of them demand you install a MDM profile on your personal phone which feels 1000% over the line of reasonable.

The cost of the hardware to run local models is still massively more expensive than the subscriptions while offering worse models. Eventually I think it will even out but right now the hosted stuff is very subsidised.
