I'm sorry but that's extremely condescending of you. You might as well feel sad that these brilliant people are not "curing cancer" or "eliminating AIDS" or something.

I would've worded it differently. Do approach people to confirm that you're on the right track, or to find out the (undocumented) motivation for a certain design, NOT to ask them to solve a problem for you.

I think this is the first "PR PR" I've ever seen :)

Seems to work for me. I type in the first few letters and it gives me a dropdown menu for autocompletion.

Terraform is the odd one out; it's an "infrastructure as code" tool, like Amazon CloudFormation but with pluggable providers.

Speaking as someone who made the switch from MySQL to Postgres... I'm just happy that I can now trust subqueries and schema updates to not blow up my database. And I don't know how I got by without lateral joins and hstore.

Much of the complexity in Symfony comes from its "dependency injection" component (a misnomer, really) and the inclusion of annotation magic in the standard framework distribution. These days, I'd rather use the basic compone

Something worth noting: Datadog is currently the only monitoring service that provides a Dockerized agent (so you can easily stick it into a CoreOS cluster, for example).

Well, writing code that's too generic or overly abstracted is also a premature optimization...

DigitalOcean is pretty solid so far. I've been monitoring uptime on my instances for a year and while a relatively new datacenter like Singapore was unstable for a while, I haven't gotten any alerts for the past few months.

You can bundle busybox with opkg and use that to install python 2.7 and pip. I tried it out myself (using progrium/busybox [1] as a base) and the image comes to 27mb, not bad. [1]: https://github.com/progrium/busyb

I'll get around to putting up a GitHub repo soon, but for now you can pull gigablah/busybox-node. You can either override the entrypoint or daemonize it and use docker exec.

I used baseimage-docker for a while but wasn't satisfied with the image size (around 300mb with nodejs installed), so I switched to debian as the base and removed stuff I didn't need such as syslog and openssh. That alone brought
