You understand? I have no idea why when they could of easily just turned and said "It's impossible to do that." Technically true. You'd only take the practical steps to filter people if you really wanted to filter people

If your ultimate actions were anti-competitive, even if it was a legitimate mistake, then you can't and shouldn't let it slide. If people started following that philosophy, companies like Microsoft will start causing "innocen

well I don't know if I agree with that. I haven't seen an instance where their behavior has been amoral. I have seen instances where they have been cowards, regarding DMCA's and acquiescing to threats, but that is a minor sin

Well, I think if you went to the streets and asked a selection of people for their opinions on most topics, the majority would be aware that there was even an issue. I think that's generally the case.

Given that relationship, it's doubtless some species of trees intentionally play hosts to hives as a means to protect themselves from being harvest. Reminds me of a tree that grows homes for ants. oh wait. That was the Acacia tree as w

I've had numerous debates about this, I've asked someone who works for my local municipalities traffic office about simulations regarding this (though she didn't have the correct simulators to do it, just for intersections).

Thank you very much for the response! This paper is pretty interesting for sure. It's just it doesn't have what I would consider good evidence that coverage isn't correlated with effectiveness. (or... I don't understand

I have a few objections to the evidence presented. Keeping in mind that I don't disagree with the statement. Test coverage is an objective metric, and test Effectiveness is a... what is it again? How many bugs you'll find with it?

I would call the great firewall of china injecting a script into people visiting baidu, as a means to DDOS github, a gross abuse. just for context.

normally i'd say that it's not really paranoid if they're really out to get you... but the attack vector described here. It requires too many devices actively compromised for any usable data to be gleaned. Manufacturers are s

Well, there is some ambiguity here. I would say that I much prefer live coding to code on slides because I can see it actually compile and run. Proof that what is said works, works. I might even get to see common gotchas. It's obviousl

I've found that if you're savvy enough, you can adopt habits that deal with low bandwidth situations well. I would drop metered plan in an instant if I could just have an unlimited symmetric 5Mbps. That's enough to gradually

this is the first time I have ever heard of "light-field photography" and I am at a loss as to why this is exciting or a critical technology for VR. I don't get it. Why is having a grid of slight perspective shifts better tha

That question almost reads like a criticism, but I'd like to throw my hat into the ring here and say I'd like to know how markets cope in this situation. Do we have real world examples?

First impressions with this editor are very good. One thing I'm not 100% sure how to do is substituions with references so if I want to change the all the strings "foo(5, bar)" to "baz(bar).foo(5)" with 5 and bar

I have to agree on this point. If everyone thought the original analysis was the final word, then there would be no need to release the source. Other people are going to think that there was a better way to do things, and that was the point

That's increadibly cynical, but if cybernetics ever become a thing, I think it's painfully obvious what will happen. Humanity is going to learn some very hard lessons if that class of technologies ever pans out.
