Personally I prefer to just have two levels, blocking and non-blocking. Outside of that I should be able to trust the code author to appropriately respond to comments, I don't see why I as the reviewer should be the one deciding on the

GTA V has made 6 billion in revenue, it's probably the most profitable video game in history by a large margin.

The problem here isn't a lack of optimization, it's a lack of profiling. Premature optimization is a problem because you will waste time and create more complex code optimizing in places that don't actually need it, since it&

For people in the US though it is also super easy if you don't have investments or deductions. A 1040 is 40 lines of basic math, or if that is too much work there is tonnes of free tax software that does it for you.

The new Model S has no more stalks for turn signals and wipers and shifting. So at least some of that is being moved to the touch screen, or touch buttons on the wheel.

Also we saw the post-christmas drop in multiple countries and pretty much every state, so it would have to be a pretty crazy coincidence for everyone to have gotten herd immunity at the same time.

Can you really call someone an influencer if they aren't promoting something? It's in the name, they are influencing people. Just making content people enjoy without trying to change how they behave isn't influencing.

I don't think anybody said the market solves all problems. It's completely possible to have a free market with some regulations, you just say that to participate in the market you must meet certain reliability standards, like bein

The other big question with UBI is whether it is better to give people cash, or give them the things they need to live (food, housing, etc.). Personally, I think there is a significant portion of the population who is unable to manage their

Kind of misleading, as each transaction doesn't cost much energy. The energy usage is a product of the price of Bitcoin, not the number of transactions.

How is an autonomous car any different from taking an Uber? I think most people who currently own a car rather than taking an Uber or taxi everywhere will continue to own a car after self driving cars are a thing - there is a lot of value i

You need to be within 15 feet of the owners key fob at some point for this to work, so it doesn't seem like a super realistic attack. I think it's pretty rare for a car thief to target a particular person, rather than just stealin

If Google is required to pay publishers for the value they provide to Google, then those publishers should also be required to pay Google for the value they get from being ranked highly in search results.

The violent crime rate for black men is roughly equal to the portion of police shooting victims which are black. Violent crime rate (excluding murder) is roughly 2x the average, and so is the death rate to police. That's why I think we

> 1 in 1000 young black men is killed by a cop Given that ~300 black men are killed by police each year, I don't think that math checks out. Agree with police reform, although we probably need more funding in many places, not less.

A predator drone can fire a hellfire missile from kilometers away and hit a car windshield, killing the passengers with a set of pop-out blades. I don't think humanoid robots are going to be a tipping point.

I think we would have fewer deaths from a second black death than COVID. If the death rate is that high, people will be willing to go to drastic measures to contain it, and it is much easier to tell if someone is infected. For example, look
