Sounds like very cheap monitor which had lot of cost cutting done on side of protections of inputs. I would not be surprised that touching such monitor will electrocute you.

If your system gets locked (I.e. ransomware) and you have secure boot active, then you are out of luck. See Apple M chips which if they get locked you will never unlock them again.

Yeah, spark of engine is something what can be seen on SIGINT for dozens of kilometers. So unless jet engine is used (which rarely is on reconnaissance drones) then the drone will be spark lighthouse in the sky.

I do see it on exactly same way. A lot of people are conflating opensource with free. That model is not really sustainable if you want to do it for living.
