Yes but once the json has been validated once at runtime, you know it's safe for the rest of your program to use. Whereas in a dynamic language (even an immutable one), your data could be mutated during program runtime and no longer co

It highly depends on the price of the product you’re selling. If you’re selling 2.99 monthly subscriptions, then Stripe is eating ~13% of your revenue (30c + 2.9%). Or ~$6k per month in the grandparent commenter’s case ($30k in your case).

Pity it crashes for me 100% of the time when opening on an older iPhone. Haven't been able to receive my messages for over 2 months - which is insane for a messaging app (I'm not even sure if I'll receive the messages if

Welcome to the internet, you must be new here :) Jokes aside, there are at least a few suspicious looking responses on that doc relating to Epstein like "Job Duties: Covering up Epstein's crimes to protect the Clintons". So t

Regarding model properties - there’s a standard documentation syntax that can be used to document that and give you autocomplete in your IDE (Laravel IDE helper can also auto generate these for you). Not ideal - since it’s not enforced in a

From their open job positions - it looks like the Android app is indeed native (mostly Kotlin + heavy use of RxJava). And only iOS + web (+ desktop?) are mentioned in the post. I'd imagine the reason they didn't use RN on Android

In the UK, if you want to close a company you must do the same (pay ~£300 to post notice in a paper that your company is closing). I think the idea is that anyone who the company owes money to can file a claim before any remaining funds are

Google Play is arguably as bad - just in different ways. At least an actual human reviews your apps at Apple, and they do sometimes point out specific-ish information. At Google, since it's all bots, a random algorithm change can remov

Don’t forget Kotlin, Swift and Typescript! Possibly the most popular 3 of the lot! They don’t break the mould quite like the ones you’ve mentioned, but they’re still a big improvement for day to day stuff!

This is one of the concerns we have with SCA. By the nature of the additional authentication steps, they are necessarily hosted off-site in some situations. Is this a necessity though? Couldn't they just enter the 2FA code in the sa

I quite like Stripe - but them forcing the recent switch to Checkout V2 has me a bit miffed. Previously it was super simple to add dynamic card payments to a site - just drop the JS in, make a call to your server and then call Stripe from y

Too precise I think - you can have multiple GPS coordinates for one address e.g. 2.00000000001 and 2.00000000002 could both be on the same building. Even a bounding box is too error prone. Also, verticality would be an issue.

React Native isn't a web wrapper. It uses a Javascript engine to render native iOS/Android components (unlike Flutter, which doesn't use native components, and instead renders everything from scratch).
