There clearly are problems that are suited very well for TDD and others that aren't. I guess the suitability of TDD depends on how much a feature involves "how" rather than "what": Whenever it is clear what the feat

What exactly did confuse you? I don't understand how the fading should work, as the visualization is not realtime but rather abstracts time away.

I can recommend to implement such tools platform independently so that they also run in browsers. Trying out a web tool is much less easier and safer than installing and running a tool locally that could do anything on my computer. If the t

I somehow have the intrinsic motivation to make things better and to challenge myself. This is why I would never just program UIs which were already designed and ready to implement. I could never work on projects that don't require me

I thought long about the pros and cons of letting time flow vertically rather than horizontally. In the end, I wanted to have the code editor to the right and the visualizer to the left (code lines are usually short but there are many of th

As my blog is just a personal project, $9 is a little too much for me just for tracking.

It took a ton of time and a lot of troubleshooting to setup my own Matomo instance, but it's running now ;) Thanks for your input! However, I needed to rewrite some files so that adblockers don't block the tracking mechanism right

I am pretty happy with what you can do with Javascript/TypeScript. I implemented a hot reload solution for nodejs a few months ago (@hediet/node-reload): It restarts stack frames automatically when it detects that its function bod

Is the processed data typed? Can you offer auto completion of data fields based on these types? I also thought quite a couple of times about implementing a data centric, typed shell language. My primary goal was to have a shell where one co

What is the name of the existing service? I am interested in trying it out :) I also once had the idea of a reverse address book but didn't think many people would use it.

Actually, we already know an algorithm that solves an NP complete problem in polynomial time iff P = NP. We can just enumerate all programs and ask them to generate witnesses. As we can decide whether a witness is valid and there is a progr

When I discussed my discovery with a friend of mine who is doing his PhD, he was not really excited about it and once I showed him the features of TypeScripts typesystem, he immediately explained me why it has to be turing complete. So in t

The properties that enable TS' type system to be turing complete are recursive types and indexer types. Indexer types allow you to write `{ foo: string }["foo"]` which results in the type `string`.

How does it compare with SQRL? What does SecureLogin better? It like SQRL's QR code approach very much so that you can easily go to a public computer and login by just using pointing your phone to the screen.

This is truly awesome! But I miss a single source that has everything users and developers need to know. For SQRL to become mainstraim this is absolutely necessary. Right now there is https://www.grc.com/sqrl/sqrl.htm
