Clean energy sources are the cheapest [0], and they get cheaper with every new investment and innovation. The competition in Bitcoin mining is global, which means that it becomes unprofitable for everyone to use fossil fuels when profit mar

Yes, it requires production of mining hardware, but just for adding new hashing capacity to the network. Major part of the mining cost comes from energy, and I believe that in the long run even more so. Energy efficiency of mining hardware

Consensus in both of them is based on unforgeable costliness, to make it economically unviable to create alternative histories. In PoW, the costliness is based on production and consumption of energy. In PoST, the costliness is based on pro

PoST is a step in the wrong direction. It doesn't address anything, because energy use is not a problem. PoST consumes natural resources and produces e-waste, which is way worse than just consuming clean energy and producing heat, wh

There's also Anchor, which is the third piece of this Ponzi. Anchor promises 20% yield on UST, and this is what generates demand for UST. However, the yield contains risk which is hidden on purpose or not generally understood. Ponzi sc

It's very profitable to create a token, pump up the price and run with the money, rather than building something actually useful. Combine that with the fact that it's incredibly hard or impossible to build something useful on a bl

Bitcoin is hope. It sounds weird, but it's actually the solution to all of these problems. The corruption of centrally governed monetary systems corrupts all incentives in the world. For example, if people are more conservative about c

I feel that we don't know the full picture of the chip shortage. Is the demand actually up that much, and why? Or is there someone secretly buying a huge number of chips (military, secret crypto mining)?

You can't get rich with bitcoin any more. That's a good thing and also separates the people who believe in better money, from the "get rich quick with crypto" types. If you believe that Bitcoin is better money, then you

That's not true at all. In theory, a perfect market will self-regulate. No one buys or sells from scammers and they are naturally outcompeted from the marketplace. However, in real world, markets aren't perfect and that's why

It's not very well designed. I missed the whole tutorial and was very confused. You can use roll or block to avoid attacks. Just watch the stamina bar. If it runs out, then you can't roll or block any more effectively.
