I’d imagine the creator uses Google calendar, made it for themself, and then decided others might like to have a pre-built version. “Trendy” probably doesn’t have anything to do with it.

I don’t use Discord much, but it seems like a terrible way to “stay in the loop.” Am I wrong that you would need to either 1) receive a lot of notifications from irrelevant conversations, 2) spend some time making fine-grained choices about

Preventative search and rescue, for at least one—which is the opposite of what you'd typically imagine "search and rescue" entails, and if effective, obviates the need.

These full-time positions are fairly common at National Park Service (or other agency-managed) public lands, and are attractive to retirees. I was a paid (and housed) intern at one site, but I lived alongside three or four couples in their

I’ve been learning Gleam the past couple weeks and it’s got amazingly well-developed tooling and community for its age. Overall solid documentation, a full Exercism track with active mentors, good compiler hints (and LSP support) and an act

Curious how you chose the name. Seems antithetical to the idea of getting the work done, at least in light of my negative emotional reaction to “flout” which connotes irresponsibility to me.

He uses the term in his non-typographer-oriented book about typography, so that would be a little surprising: https://practicaltypography.com/verdana-alternatives.html

I haven’t used MacOS native dictation, but I thought it could be used anywhere text could be input. Does your script have different functionality? Edit: looks like Mac native runs locally only with dapple Silicon, and maybe has a more limit

The question is about being able to load in the first place. Can it be loaded in one machine, saved , and then opened in the browser of another machine?

Assuming you meant "neither is better," I disagree. Text is far more susceptible to navigation—especially via searching, but also by way of formatting and hyperlinking. It also permits more flexible clipping, saving, or sharing. Y

Scheduling is probably the most obvious example of a real problem. You’ve got a space that has many different ways of being bounded and need to efficiently search that space. Physical design systems (modeling possible boat hulls, say—not th

That doesn’t contradict what I said. Did you uncharitably assume “parties” meant political parties? Also, per the site guidelines, please don’t make unnecessary accusations that someone has not read the article. Pointing out what the articl

Going from 7% to 4% is shaving 43% off your mortgage rate—which of course would make a difference. But it’s not even the same order of magnitude as what we’re talking about here.

No, the point is that the self discipline needed to hold one’s breath is lower than the self discipline needed to take one specific values-aligned action. And that, in turn, is lower than the self discipline needed to simply not do the thin

No, that’s the whole point I’m making. A semicolon is no better than terminal punctuation in creating visual horizontal space, which is a tool for communicating semantic structure, but one that we never use. I am not speaking to what is g

That seems like an unfortunate tool to have discarded. Right now, I can use vertical separation to structure text, but horizontal separation.... Well, that's far more limited. Within sentences, there's the dash—either em or space-

Thing is, men are men—can’t help it, really—regardless of what behaviors they display. Being toxic isn’t “being men” because plenty of men aren’t toxic.

It’s “cue” for this usage, I believe. “Queue” refers to a group of people in an ordered line, or the act of creating that ordered line. To cue something is to prompt it - as a cue card prompts an actor, for example.

Class actions don't need a huge number of people to lead the charge. That's the point: most people can do nothing, while their interests are represented. I think it would be best if wrongdoers had to make consumers whole and also

Do you want courts ignoring other precedents from the Supreme Court whenever they feel like it? Or considering arguments that the parties don’t make, just so that they can reach the outcome they desire and view as a moral issue? As bad as t
