Yeah, but shouldn't a delta of 1/3s be the same as 3fps? But the 1/3s to the left does not look like the 3fps to the right. And it does say that the picture to the right is just like in Quake. So I was guessing that maybe the one to the lef

I'd say it's still fair to point out that you chose a game where framerate is particularly unimportant to begin with. Like, you probably would believe the amount of people playing Quake Live at 7 fps.

X is time, Y is height. So something like, X time after hitting the jump button, the guy is Y above the ground. (Or you can pretend that the guy is moving towards the right at constant speed, and jumping, and the points in the graphs are th

Because without fixed deltaTime, if the framerate is too low, you can't jump in Quake. With the "new algorithm", in the 3fps example, you still have to luck out and get a tick at the right time. And with a constant delta, if you choose it r

"PLT was an acronym for some 30 minutes. It was coined in response to a request by Ken Kennedy to distinguish our group from the compiler group. The "T" never stood for theory because we never identified our work with plain language theory.

I don't know what oneandoneis2 meant. But I suppose what font size is decent might depend a little on the resolution.

Fair enough. Then it sounds like your problem is really with annotations, and not that much about the in-comment part of this.

Not that this is very relevant to begin with or anyhing. But as a side note, in this course the solutions tend to be mostly code written by Coursera course people, with some small parts written by the students.

Um. And he was not so ignorant of BitKeeper. I also had the impression that it was not so much about ignorance of CVS and things as it was about disliking the way they did things. But I would not know for sure... Not that I would tell these

Hmm? I might not know excactly what you're referring to and so on, but... I guess you increase input lag if you're doing vsync and double buffering and your drawing things can't keep up with the refresh rate (so framerate gets halved and th

But then the "free to play" part doesn't mean much. From the FAQ: "For gamers, every game will be free to play: what this means is that there will at least be a free demo" So it's free to play in the way that a great number of games not gen

(who cares what language it's written in, or same-order-of-magnitude differences in how big the executables are?) That last reason there is about the length of the filename, not about the size of the file. I don't think anyone's sup
