If I understand the article correctly, it's about the research that tested whether talking to strangers improves wellbeing.

There are currently at least two (or maybe the same with separate accounts) very popular poets on Reddit who make poetic comments to posts.

Sure, but "generative AI is going to make certain artistic careers less lucrative" is a different argument than "AI is making us all nihilistic". Lots of jobs were already wiped by progress of technology, and no doubt it

But we haven't stopped playing chess, have we? Even though a machine would wipe the floor with him, Magnus Carlsen is still a superstar.

Most ornaments for buildings in 19th century were cast from molds, not carved. Lower quality, but much quickly and cheaply mass produced.

Can you point to where, because I don't see it in guidelines.

Yeah, I'm in Croatia. Our wages are way lower than yours. Local beef is adjusted for that, imported veggie patties are not.

Yeah, I feed my cats wet food every day. It smells a bit funny, but not repulsive.

Why is wet cat food smell revolting to you? It's meat, after all.

Same experience as you. Quite tasty for a burger, but not affordable at 3x the price of a beef burger patty.

No, the reality is that we were (and still are, though a bit less) poor compared to the Americans. I can afford myself a nice automatic car and it is a blessing for me, but most of my compatriots still can't.

I agree. Having such an essential collection gated behind a copyright is a net detriment to humanity. Imagine if collection known as a SI system of units was owned by a corporation and you had to pay a license to use it.

But aren't they already getting licensing fees from printer and color mixer manufacturers? Requiring someone to pay just to be able to specify "I want this thing painted with Pantone XYZ" sounds like double-dipping to me.
328.
by Gare 4y ago
But if there is a 1:1 mapping from Freetone to Pantone, shouldn't this still work? Crappy thing is that Pantone wants designers to pay for the ability to associate some area with a specific Pantone hue.
