I suppose they could be using something like Qubes OS. I myself use a rooted phone, which does admittedly have security drawbacks but is useful in various ways.

I see what you mean, but whilst there aren't really repercussions if the claim is incorrect; but if a claim is incorrectly rejected or accepted, that is a significant problem.
