We already have the perfect way to create heat and the science around it has been long solved and understood. Solar and wind won't save us and fusion certainly won't. It amazes me how solar and wind dreamers all seem to like fusio

And you can just continue fear mongering trying to hold the world back further. The world is going nuclear wether you like it or not, America's biggest enemies Russia and China already have it big time and there's a very big limit

I wasn't saying that nuclear IS "too cheap to meter" I'm saying it could be. And my statement about fossil fuels propaganda was merely a jab back at your snarky comment. Your absolutely right that most of the new reactor

And you fell for the fossil fuels propaganda claiming nuclear is too expensive to without subsidies. Seriously.. new nuclear is on the drawing board with huge investments in the UK, France and Sweden. Nuclear will be cheap when the industry

Energy too cheap to meter doesn't sound like a good investment from a capitalistic viewpoint.

My favorite cyclic theory so far is probably Roger Penrose's conformal cyclic cosmology. In essence the universe keeps expanding exponentially which in the end becomes equivalent to a new big bang since the universe at that point will

Is storage really transportable ? Like how much energy in any form could you realistically transport for any meaningful distance without using too much of the energy that you are transporting ? Since you made the claim I'd like you to

I'm pretty sure they'd rather deal with a bit of entombed nuclear waste buried deep in the ground instead of a dead, polluted and depleted planet.

This runs much much deeper than just USB-C hubs. Me and a couple of friends dabbled in getting a product produced in China 10 years ago and while investigating competition and really digging deep into aliexpress, alibaba etc. We found out t

It's really hard recognizing the image Amazon have in the US compared to my personal experience with amazon.de . The service is stellar, shipping both ways is free as long as you buy products covered by prime. Refunds are with no quest

I don't think you realize just how big the sea is and how good it is at containing radiation. Heck, we're even figuring out how to mine uranium from seawater, because it's already in there.

I never ever said that the tiny approximation of subsets of our brain was enough for AGI. Just because we haven't found out the exact structures of the neural net in our brain and how to emulate it, it's still very much a neural n

I'd consider brains and other biological neutral systems as neutral nets. So to me there's pretty convincing evidence that neutral nets can form an AGI
