GC helps with file handles. Just give the "file" object a destructor that closes the underlying handle.

Don't know about refunds, but for the rest Apple Pay (available via web) is literally click button, scan finger (on your nearby iPhone if you're on desktop and not using a tbMBP), done. I guess you can use credit card chargebacks,

There are no “easy” onion URLs. They are essentially random (hash of a key iirc). It’s possible to generate random URLs until you get a prefix you like, but the time it takes increases exponentially with length of the desired prefix.

You can just put your finger on the slider key and slide. No need for tap, let go, slide. It's pretty natural.

As a vim user, I don't find the software escape to be bad—it's always in the same spot, even if it's not a physical key. Also, in vim, you can use ctrl-[ instead of escape (which is arguably better anyway).

I actually really like my 2017 MBP's keyboard. There isn't much key travel, but the keys do have a very satisfying "click." I prefer it over older apple keyboards. Keys do have issues weekly or so, but that's resolv

Has LinkNYC responded to this? It seems at least plausible that some feature of the devices (video chat?) requires a camera. Do we know that the cameras are always-on? Edit: https://www.link.nyc/faq.html#cameras Looks like

macOS has sandboxed apps, with the same underlying model as iOS (not sure if it asks for camera permissions and such, but apps declare a list of “entitlements” and are granted only those). It’s required for App Store apps, but other than th

I assume “object-like coding” just means “a data structure and a set of functions for interacting with it. Are you implying that the “right way” of using Haskell doesn’t do anything like that?

Huh. Looking at phaxio's prices, faxrocket is charging a huge premium. For a techie, is there a reason to use faxrocket vs curling to phaxio? Edit: I guess the phone number makes faxrocket a better deal for low usage, but phaxio become

Back on XP I recall C-A-D not showing the task manager on malware-infested machines. Not sure if that's changed since then (is the full-screen c-a-d in 7/8/10 related)?
