IIRC SHA3's reference implementation had an integer overflow in a counter that made finding collisions trivial, as it meant that some blocks of the input weren't considered.

But I want that somewhere to be deterministic, i.e. I want to arrive to the place I choose. With this kind of non-determinism instead, I have a big chance of getting to the place I choose. But I will also every now and then end up in a diff

I would say that Rust would be a better choice rarher than patching memory safety on top of C. But I think the reason for this is that most, if not all, cryptographic reference implementations are in C. So they want to use existing referenc

In the context of this blog post, yes. But in the broader context of the quote, a word processor having a ton of features shows that you don't really get away with only implementing 20% of the functionalities.

Well, I'm not familiar with their office suite, but I bet that, if I open their word processor, I will still find a ton of features that I will never use.

Shutting it down due to a technicality about not following a procedure != shutting it down because it is an unmaintainable mess, while also tasking IT with implementing the same core idea, but in a proper way.

Yes, the intern will not follow the procedure, and likely isn't even technically required to do so. But, before the application becomes a tool actually used inside the company, there should be some quality control done.

> 80% of the people only need 20% of the features. I also heard that, once you try to apply this concept, you see that everyone needs a different 20%. Any thoughts on this?

I think the point here is that a lot of automation still requires "real-world" components (read: hardware). E.g. robots, factories with said robots and so on. So you being able to run LLMs on your PC is still not going to put big

Up to some years ago, it was common for gamers to assemble their own PC, something that you can't do with a Mac. Not sure if this is still common among gamers though.

The point of the comment is that without Microsoft misbehaving, many people wouldn't have discovered/would not discover how good Linux is now.

Not an expert in machine learning, but AFAIK diffusion models use a completely different architecture, therefore you can't use the same code to run optimized versions of both. But maybe the core ideas can be adapted to diffusion someho
