I would say that with journaling you're not guaranteed to look back at specific notes, you need somehow to force yourself to do so and have a way of easily finding that specific note at a specific point in the future. Sending a letter

I understand your concern. I would just add that, if the main concern for you would be someone finding such a USB key with encrypted private keys and be willing to use a long time to recover them, that's not really an issue: you only n

If you don't trust encryption, I'm honestly curious to hear how you handle your sensitive data. My own opinion is that you're being too paranoid, but it would be interesting to hear back from you.

I'm a Ventoy user but missed this feature. Does anyone knows how it works? Are they packaging one or more hyoervisors together with Ventoy?

Well, as in many cases, I think it depends. There are some situations where you can accept errors, but in some others definitely not: imagine you're trying to delete a set of files from a directory that contains other files you're

Yes, but remember that usually nowadays a piece of software also logs something to stderr instead of relying just on exit codes to signal error.

Yes, and it's ironic that there's an error in the error handling routine :D

That's usually not the full error message, and you can still easily find the number's meaning by opening the man page of wathever piece of software terminated with that exit code.

Had the journalist tryied Linux, would have known that it gives much better error messages than some random looking number.

Yes, that's true. But since HN is famously hosted on a single not-so-powerful server, that would be unlikely to be the employed solution.

On the other hand, at least in my experience, Windows becomes laggy much sooner than Linux. IMO which of the two behaviors is better really depends on the use case.
