My memories of theoretical computer science are quite rusty, but I seem to see an issue with your argument: if you need enumeration you meet semidecidability. In other words, if you start generating the proofs and you find the one you were

Reading the article, I'm not able to answer your question. But the decrease in fossil fuels consumption doesn't seem to have any link with the abandonment of nuclear power. They cite other things as the driving factors. Archived a

IIRC the very first installations of Linix started with Minix as a base, that then was "patched" into Linux. So it was more than just the filesystem. But yes, Torvalds wasn't happy with Minix, and Tanenbaum wasn't happy

Not having read this Borges' short novel, I suspect OP might be seeing in it more than what's there. But it still was a very nice read during along train commute.

If we decide not to gamble on that outcome, what would you do differently than what is being done now? The EU already approved the AI act, so legislation-wise we're already facing the problem.

I think that if you filter-out the exaggerations in the article, the general message is still worth to reflect on. Some process doesn't get more efficient just by virtue of using a computer, and many tools we have now are more about go

Surely that limit is the result of some political discussion, thus arbitrary. But I think there is no scientific way of setting such limit, so any limit you come up with will be arbitrary.
