A new wake-up reason might get installed in the future. Instead I found some powershell code ages ago, created a `nap` function in my $profile, and set the option to not allow waking it from sleep: # load assembly System.Windows.Forms

Wow, that "where do you want to go today" really tripped a strong nostalgia vein and reminded me of the old Microsoft Interactive CD Sampler: https://youtu.be/FrD78hULKIQ?t=234

Do you mean the web-based Outlook? I find the traditional desktop Outlook is unbeaten for business email/calendar. Strongly agree on Teams though.

Even further: you need draggable nested checklists, where you can select an item, drag it, and all of it's nested children follow. I'm currently using the 2016 / desktop version of OneNote for this and it's incredible .

This makes me really hope to see more uptake of PowerShell in Linux (and performance improvements in PowerShell too). The above is just $PSScriptRoot.

For anyone skimming the comments and considering skipping this video: do yourself a favor and don't. Krazam's tech comedy is unparalleled.

It makes a little more sense in context to me. The verbose Verb-Nounish works because the verbs are designed to be limited. E.g. there's Remove- but no Delete- in the standard (shown in `Get-Verb`). So you can then press ctrl+space aft

Thanks for writing this! I used it a few years ago to remove the ANSI output from HP/Aruba network devices that clear your screen or line which was a nightmare for scripting. It works like a dream.

This works for developers but excludes large swathes of other stakeholders, some with huge amounts of business/process knowledge. MediaWiki supports WYSIWYG via VisualEditor, which increases usage from others (and has the benefit of ma

I started using something like these a little while back and they're phenomenal. Nothing like being able to answer "what the hell was I thinking 6 months ago?", or a stakeholder's "why are we doing it this way?"

No mention of using an "air gap" in any of the comments here. Air-gapped networks are a pain to work with but are incredibly effective. I still haven't read anything on how the attackers actually reached the build server thou

Yep. Love powershell, disliked this decision, but now understand it: objects returned from native powershell commands have a loooooooooooooooooooot of nesting. Try: gci | select -first 1 | ConvertTo-Json -Depth 2 gci | select -first 1

Everything in powershell is an object, but sometimes the output format doesn't make it clear. Select-String basically returns a match object with some nested results, but the output formatting makes it awkward to see. Pipe it to |

Yep, the readability of PowerShell puts other shell scripting to shame. The "verbose default + short aliases" design is fantastic for maintaining both script readability and one-liner speed.

I feel this is very very wrong and damaging, I'd like to make sure anyone reading this comment has a balancing comment to read against it, mainly about the pitch thing. The kind of thing I wish I'd been able to read 10 years ago.

(Replied to op instead of comment): Is your complaint about PowerShell the verbosity? Because I love its approach to this: full verbosity is the default (great for scripts), then terminal usage is improved by aliases (ForEach-Object is just
