I don't recall that ever being a thing, and my quake addiction began playing on a cyrix based computer at large (for the time) lan parties. We did a lot of things to eek out more performance but as far as I recall no one was booting to

Counter point; I have 3 RPis (an original B, a B+, and a 2) and in 4 years have never had any data corruption. I use the 2 every day running OSMC as my media center and the B+ sees very frequent use in a variety of projects.

I use lubuntu on my daily drive laptop and older PCs I have laying around. I'm a huge fan. I wanted to note that with the up coming 17.04 release it will be using the LXQt desktop environment.

From what I learned about AirBnB's origin story via an episode of NPR's How I Built This [1], the original idea of AirBnB was a kind of "stay somewhere with a local and experience the place not as a tourist" experience.

For anyone else who didn't know that "normal" flight from JFK to Heathrow is just over 8 hours. Googling for this helped put the sub 3 hour 1996 concorde flight into perspective.
