Just because we don’t have direct evidence, doesn’t mean we don’t know anything. We can make educated guesses and talk about what is more or less likely. For example, it’s less likely that immunity will last for 7 months, its more likely to

According to the literature I have read, there is no evidence that Its mutating rapidly, nor is there multiple distinct strands. The increase in strokes is real, but your risk if you are <60 years old of having one is still vanishingly

I feel reasonably confident about vaccine efficacy, I suspect the reason this thing is so bad is because of the binding affinity of its spike protein. If that mutates, it will become less lethal so waning vaccine efficacy becomes less of an

No, we don’t, but that uncertainty doesn’t mean that it’s definitely an unprecedented calamity. This is not good, but how not good is yet to be seen and anyone who claims to know how things will shake out is lying or fooling themselves.

We don’t know much, and we won’t know much for a long time yet. One thing we have a reasonable handle on is how many people went in to a hospital in the last week. We know less well how many people died last week. Anything beyond that is so

Yeah, it is, but that’s no more true now than it was before Coronavirus. Trumps presidency has laid bare just how enfeebled American democracy is.

Corona viruses also have an error correction enzyme in their rna transcription so their rate of mutation is much lower than most viruses, it’s likely that both herd immunity and vaccination would be effective as a consequence.

The icons are ugly, there are too many boxy sections on any given view, the top left pane in the calendar provides no useful information and is ugly. There is too much noise and clutter, it could be simpler and cleaner. I use it every day,

i Would argue we may be at the zenith of our civilization, environmental and ecological collapse seem not just possible but likely in the medium term if you look at the trends in co2 and biodiversity loss.

intensity is proportional to the inverse square of the distance, anything exploding that far away will be but a pinpoint in the sky by the time it gets here, even if it was a cataclysm when it occurred.

Manufacturing is an awful lot more than “cobbling together” a cad file. Cruise missiles need some pretty complex components to be made with specialized tooling, none of which are going to last long with Saudi Arabia bombing the fuck out of
