Yep, that is what the bet is. The build out will continue, even if it looks different. The Internet was a 'bubble' at one point, and after it crashed in 2000, it didn't go away, it continued to build out. We're still us

If the demand is great enough, they can fly trades to site and put them up in a hotel, just like any consultant.

From your other answers, you know what you are talking about. So wont argue the point. Because I think we would really be arguing about, what level of reality can be calculated in a browser. Sure, a simulation can be done in a browser. But

wow. Well, actually, my dear fellow, "NEWS" is short for N.E.W.S., which is North, East, West, and South. Indubitably. How smart, very intelligent.

Running a simulation in a browser is not going to be a complete representation of reality. To think that is possible is really weird. So really, what is happening, we are arguing over the 'Title'?

Yeah, but they do all go up and down together. It isn't isolated to software jobs.

One thing on the first graph that jumps out, is that ALL unemployment has gone up/down in same ratio's. Maybe the current job market is not about AI, but all the other variables in the economy that has always driven unemployment.

HR always adds a lot of years of experience. Even when Java 1.0 came out, HR was asking for 4-5 years of experience. Seems like a decades long problem with people writing the job descriptions don't actually know what the job is.

An engineering nightmare. But as a passenger, it might be nice. Can take time getting on to the container and settled, and then the whole container gets loaded.

Then what is causing hiring to be so low, or the layoffs? Just a soft job market in general? The economy is actually tanking, not just "AI" jobs. Did hiring managers just pump the brakes "just in case this AI thing is real&

Exactly, that is the point. Not that a drone is outcompeting an F-16. But a hundred cheap drones can definitely get by a F-16 and hit their targets. An F-16 can't get them all. The goal of war isn't to dog fight, its to bomb, an

Simulator tech has come a long way. I wouldn't say a simulator invalidates the result.

Drones really changed the equation more than Covid. Autonomous F-16's already can win against all human pilots. This would have been big 20 years ago. Now the cheap drones make it not the biggest deal anymore.

I don't think it is completely about the language. JVM taking more memory isn't the problem with in-memory databases. It is having more data than can fit in memory. Even an in-memory SQL Db would eventually run out of memory, no

Big weakness of Neo4j, etc...? Since it is a much in demand feature. Why do you think they have not done it themselves already, versus what you have done? Curious if this is breakthrough? Or there are some negatives that prevent Neo4J from

Technically correct. But kind of backs every argument into a corner. I'm assuming also, anything like a paper with data, can also be questioned in the same way. Don't object, I've seen that done. So basically, don't tal

I'd like to say something. But now that they are rounding people up, and Hacker News can be scraped and User Id's crosschecked with AI surveillance to dox. I'm actually fearful, the war on free speech is working.
