I don't think anyone would disagree that what you're highlighting are systemic problems that need to be addressed (well, except racists of course). The point I was making is that labeling a racist, IMO, should require a conscious

I meant ethanol as one of the substitutes for lead (previously a common additive) in gasoline which was often used before to better control compression and combustion. Are microplastics or plastics used to better control combusion engines n

How have plastics substituted for lead in paint and gasoline additives (genuinely curious)? Pipes I'm quite familiar with (lead/PVC). It's my understanding gas tends to use ethanol as a substitute, not plastics? No clue about

I think we need to create new language for dealing with these sorts of cases to differentiate what's being said. When you make a claim that a statement someone makes displays racism, that usually implies indirectly that the speaker is

Excellent video and summary, thank you for the links. I explain this same concept to people at less software savvy businesses frequently, so it's nice to have an external reference to point to. Going to borrow her nomenclature.

I'd be a bit weary of gaps in some environments. As you suggest, those gaps often exist for a reason. From my experience a lot of those gaps are essentially integration efforts between two systems where one person builds something inde

There seems to be an inverse relationship with power and accountability/responsibility: the less power you have, the more accountability; the more power you have, the less accountability.

Our society usually rewards these types of people, especially in business. The issue is these types of people usually aren't quite so flagrant about how sociopathic they are... but that seems to be changing more and more.
