Do they pass American? As far as I'm aware, American safety standards are of the highest in the world, in part due to the amount of reckless driving here and general lack of road-sense.

I think it's important to not call out individual users, as that doesn't really facilitate the "curious" discussion that we as a community aspire to achieve every day.

I remember being called outdated, a contrarian and 'in the way of progress' on this site when I expressed doubt that the Vision Pro would be 'the next iPhone', as people on this site put it. I was told that our way of wo

Precisely. The overarching HN view, although it's not a monolith (so the viewpoint isn't shared by all), is that the free market solves for all things and regulation by the government is largely a waste of taxpayer money that coul

This is an uncharitable viewpoint. The US has progressed significantly and each generation has been smarter and more empathetic than the last, meaning a free market is the end state of all economics. There isn't a single US owned and o

Don't the aerodynamics severely limit the cornering performance of the Model Y? How can it have the same performance? Or is there only one metric of performance that is being measured?

With that in mind, "Am I the only one..." is not substantial conversation, because it is rarely the case where one person is the only one who holds a certain viewpoint.

The average user (non-tech oriented) doesn't really think about or care that much about openness. This is the kind of user who posts disclaimers on their Facebook wall saying that Facebook is not allowed to use their content.
