> Manipulating complex data structures that are large I do assume it's not the case, but one of the footguns with PHP is that assigning around large variables/arrays and triggering the copy-on-write can end building up the amou

Maybe it'd work for large trucks in very cold environments. Not much around in an accident and it handles lower temperatures.

Technically, once you start colonizing a planet's underground you have little vertical limitations. Manhattan isn't a cube, most people live in a 50 meters layer from the ground. 50 meters is nothing if you are building an undergr

The surface layer is mostly irrelevant for life conditions when considering oceans enclosed in ice. Even a few meters under a water ice surface you already have plenty insulation from surface temperatures, whatever exothermic process you ge

Kudos for maintaining a Perl app in 2020. I went into the github expecting some huge node.js jumble and was surprised to see a couple .pm files running everything.

I had too many headaches with Resolve 16.2 hanging on exports or UI stopping responding on Ubuntu 18.04, I hope it gets better. The camera stabilization filter is amazing. Kdenlive does support MP4 as source assets, Resolve free only does P

Well, Rust is playing catch up with the "change code and run" speed of PHP.

And a curse long after frame modes lost any real world purpose. The workflows ended surviving much longer than the technology that justified them.

23.976 FPS in most cases actually. For anyone wondering, this is a rate that fits at an even ratio in the old 60 Hz analog TV broadcasts, minus the frames reserved to piggy back color information along the old black and white signal. It

I look at MBTI as a hash function. Rather than having someone ask a few dozen questions about myself and me answering them and them putting them together, it's simpler to hash those answers into a 4 letter string. People with some big

I doubt it captures the change from TV being central in peoples' lifes to being a sideshow to internet. The value of owning a TV in the old times was much higher than now.

May be easier to audit a project in a sense due to most common libraries being standard rather than imported. Has a decent track record for major version updates being easy to migrate to (even if many projects don't bother). Works for

End of the day, an Oauth2 user is just an user admin that creates a child user account for each app, with restricted permissions. Then the app logins with "their" username (client ID) and password (client secret).

I guess trash bags can/could be produced with biodegradation in mind, while shopping bags may prioritize being able to stay in stock for years and to hold dyes, etc. It's not necessarily a 1:1 replacement.

You are comparing a framework to a language though. Escaping in PHP is usually handled by the templating component, you don't go around writing htmlentities() everywhere.

I'd personally just avoid using film spec terms for TV and computers and just stick to the old FullHD, Ultra Wide, UltraHD terms. Film tech is always a bit of an island doing their own thing for encoding, captions, hardware, etc. Attac

One issue that was talked about some years ago and has sort of fallen off the news cycle was overcapacity for maritime transport. That could have contributed to it, or maybe it's another symptom of the underlying cause. https:/&#
