More like two feet. AFAIK Sony never installed backdoors, and I thought they were the worst of the DRM crowd.

From the video: "It's strong. It's durable. It's cheap. What I like about it most? It's made out of cardboard!" I wonder; is it light?

Thanks, as that answer's author stated, it certainly is a silly method. I wonder what the Oracle interviewer would have thought if he gave that answer...

Hello candidate. Please state in reverse alphabetical order every algorithm you have memorized. For completeness, provide an implementation of each algorithm on this sheet of paper.

Any explanation for this solution: (I'm not overly familiar with C, and I'm very curious as to how it works) #include <stdio.h> #include <stdlib.h> #include <string.h> int main() { FILE * fp=fopen("temp.dat","w+b

Short of doing extensive background research on a title, Steam has no indication of a game's dependence on some third party launcher or cloud service, so every time I run a new game for the first time I have to clench and pray the Windows L

Oh hell no. I can't believe this shit... and Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Future Soldier was such a good game too. T_T Next time I want to play an Ubisoft game I'm just going to pirate it. EDIT: I buy 99% of my video games through Steam, and

Also the scariest place on the Internet! When the page is initially black then out of nowhere, a large, and loud video starts playing, your heart skips a beat, and not just because a strange man is hugging your monitor! Doubly true if you o

This is really cool except that I have no idea what any of these things would look like from a satellite image. Could you possibly have "examples" of a base camp / avalanche / etc? I can't tell if something is an avalanche or just a river /

Not at all, even in London, businesses that are NOT official sponsors are banned from even hinting that they're related to the Olympics in any way. There was a of this kind of stuff in the news not too long ago. The IOC is very serious abou

I'm not saying you are immune. But if the judge ruling over the case throws it out before it gets to court then your assets should not remain frozen indefinitely out of spite.

The analogy is not totally off at all. Read the other comments. It's just a matter of perspective. Also, those are $500m in alleged damages. There's quite a bit of controversy over whether pirates are actually lost sales. Additionally, many

You are correct in assuming that I am upset about the case in general. However your analogy assumes that the homeless person (Megaupload) is guilty of theft and lives in the U.S. If this homeless person lives in another country and someone

As far as I've read, Megaupload didn't have any U.S. assets. It was all in Hong Kong and Australia. You don't see the U.S. going into foreign countries (on different continents even) and dragging back people and their assets to charge under

The specific analogy aside, the fact is that the U.S. government is basically saying that no matter who you are, or where you are, if you violate American law you'll be brought to American justice, even if they have to drag you to America a

I think if there was too much of this anywhere my neck would get a major kink in it. The specific font choice didn't help. It's cool that this is _possible_ however, just not so cool for accessibility, or readability.

TL;DR - By 2012 we'll have moon bases and missions to Mars if AIDS doesn't wipe us out first. They really had high hopes for space exploration. Shame that never happened. :( EDIT: Oh this was a good one (thankfully not at all accurate): "TI

Oh I hadn't really thought of that part, but that's a very good point. I had imagined they'd assume you'd be gunning for a raise in short order or they might not enjoy having an admin assistant who is quite possibly more intelligent than th

There's certainly some self-promotion near the end but I think that technology is pretty damn cool. You can upload a screenshot of your website and eyequant will give you a heatmap of where a visitor's attention will be with 90% accuracy. I

It'd definitely make it more expensive, but I think there'd be more resistance to adopting a mouse where you stick your hand in it. Reminds me of the power glove: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AacoxHFYvZw

Me neither... I figured Shell would be the closest thing to a "mermaid" related logo, but I guess I was wrong. Also, Shell is multi-national, even if it's based in Europe. There's tons of Shell gas stations around Canada.

Good to hear, I was frustrated when searching for a particular author, ie "Robert Jordan" would return results with "Robert" or "Jordan" anywhere in the title or author name. Also if you search for something like "The X of Y" you'd get resu
