It just seems like we're moving trust further and further down the stack. Sure, you can do verification of your OS, but then the question becomes can you trust your firmware, hardware, etc.

Any time DDG fails me, I just append "!s" to proxy the search through StartPage instead. I've found it scratches the itch pretty well for 99% of my use cases.

I remember watching my grandfather spit on pipes to find the source of a leak. It was viscous enough that it would bubble up. Taking flame to a gas pipe sounds absolutely terrifying.
