Exactly, it could have gone the other way and the value could’ve crashed. As long as you got a fair price you should never look back at what could’ve been. Back in the dot com days I had a friend who sold his options early. He made enough t

My guess is that it will help cloud providers. In most cases they don’t guarantee x operations per second but rather the type of cpu you get. If that type now gets 30% less performance you’re most likely going to have to pay 30% more. Again

How many people actually program software for the Mac? Not develop on the Mac but program for the Mac? It’s my experience that those who program on the Mac versus FOR the Mac have different opinions on the quality of the OS :( I know from e

It should really be re-phrased why you’re having trouble hiring developers at the rates you want because if for example you paid double market rates you would most likely be rejecting a lot of good developers. Money isn’t the only thing but

Interestingly enough I've found through my own company that it's not so much whether or not you're solo but rather the price of your software that determines if you can economically offer phone support or not. I wrote about i

Let me give a concrete example from my past. We had a public API of POJO domain objects that could be used to render templated files, think string replace. It worked great until one day someone had a special character that caused it all to

I think it’s because it’s getting into the next stage. When it first came out almost all projects using it were new. Now it’s getting to the stage where new people are coming in to maintain existing RoR code bases, and that’s very different
