I know nothing of HD over the air, but ESPN is available? In my oldschool mindset, that's a "cable" channel and not available over the air. But I could be wrong.

It's Google's social network that they give everyone for free, they can refuse service to anyone. I don't agree with the level of censorship personally (it's a little bit too PC), but I respect Google's right to run their website how they

I disagree. The younger population is far more technical than the current older population. Granted I live in a tech-y city (Seattle), and a lot of my friends are "internet savvy," but everyone I know that is under 35 torrents stuff. Sim

Right. I think more than the fact that they didn't know how the internet works was the arrogance that they didn't need to know how it worked or listen to/trust people who say they know how it works to make a decision.

The dirty little secret about "music discovery" is that most people don't spend time discovering music. Sure I do because I really like music a lot. I regularly read Pitchfork and Stereogum and listen to a lot of music. But I'm in the mi

I general I agree with this line of thinking. We should encourage women to take on careers and challenges where they are under represented. We shouldn't create sexist work environments and educational institutions that discourage particip

It's pretty close to that now. I have an RSS feed hooked up to µTorrent that automatically downloads new items I add to my RSS feed (in this case it's TV shows from a private tracker website) or newly available ones from my existing list o

I think a lot of it has to do with the fact that software engineering as a discipline is so huge that often times there are giant swaths of communities struggling with concepts and how to solve problems that really smart people already fi

I'm all for this. A lot of developers I've met learned HTML and CSS back in like 2007 and their skills and understanding of new technology hasn't progressed since then. The web is moving forward, and you should learn some new skills.

Another way to look at this is that raw specs don't matter because it's execution and quality that matter. Every Apple product I've ever owned has cost 2x as much as the "equally spec'd" rival, but Apple products last longer and work b
