Have you tried any Clojure->Scheme compilers? After that stage you can use any Scheme->C/Whatever compiler.

I tried to tweak my work Windows-laptop to have the sane cmd+q, cmd+w and cmd+h shortcuts. Windows feels like a mess. Sometimes it's alt+f4, sometimes it's ctrl+f4. I gave up.

In El Capitan I noticed a sluggishness running Emacs in iTerm2, but not in Terminal.app. I think the new iTerm2(3?) is quite a bit faster, but you probably use that already. Try Terminal.app and see if you notice a difference.

Scrolling works fine in Safari unless you override the native functionality with a buggy/insufficiently tested script.

Many news sites insist on Flash still. The shitty thing is that if you use the Developer menu in Safari and change user agent to iPad Safari they often play the video using html5.

You forgot fixed stack location and size. :) Basically every code on it it super-hardcoded for one thing. Sure, you can use the zero page(the first 256 bytes of the memory) to act like 128 16-bit registers, but you know, it feels like a cyc

Stick with Scheme for SICP. As for the other Lisps, I think you should give them all a lengthy and serious try. It's worth it. For Common Lisp, when you have learnt it a bit, get the book Let over Lambda. It's a great bus-ride rea
