I wouldn't call it horrible, but starting from their promised solution (IE without all the crap; lightweight + innovative) not much is delivered. The browser feels buggy and slow and I do not see much innovation.

I am seeing this phenomenon as well. People explain to me that this is shorter than typing yet less obtrusive than talking. Strange times!

This is an awesome app, wonderfully curated content! From a design / usability POV the site could use a little bit more contrast.

I am surprised that no one mentioned Microsoft so far. These days they are professional, innovation-driven, and do not bring in much of the unnecessary cult that comes with companies like Google. They are more open than Apple. Also from a p

I think the author just wanted to point out that "the" STL is not valid / accurate here; while the interface and behavior is defined, the implementation is afaik still vendor specific, e.g., the implementation in GCC may be d

If Xamarin would be painless to use I guess we would see a lot more guys advocating it. However, personally I know quite a lot of app developers who tried Xamarin and disliked the quality of the tooling. I hope that Xamarin keeps on improvi

I agree, but I was quite surprised to see it being mentioned alongside some quite uneducated, brutal, bash-only communities. I always had the feeling that in any discussion on HN something new to learn pops up. Besides that as an active OSS

Yes, Cake is wonderful, however, I had great problems bringing it to work due to a lot of issues with NuGet v3 (UTC positive offset bug, looking for msbuild.exe to restore packages, ...). Luckily, I could switch to NuGet v2. Bottom line is:
