Are we sure a 2002 perspective is a good basis for discussion in 2022? Does this even reflect the latest opinion of the author? I dont see how AAAA-records created problems or why dual-stacking is a bad joke.

The error message " Can’t Convert “2201010001” to long." makes it seem like that was the timestamp/serial used (Would be yymmddHHMM format). No factor 10 in deserialisation needed for an overflow.

The only thing more ridicously expensive would be an NFT of an image of this switch.

If this is a faster and drop-in replacement, why doesnt the git project just use this? Sentences like "This isn’t strictly necessary for many rebases, and can be quite slow on sizable repos." kind of scare me.

It sounds like freenet to me. How will this allow for governments to censor CSAM?

The take away from this for me is that we probably live in a simulated world that is training some robots. Sooo, who's the robot here?

Still haven solved the CSAM problem, so the public servers are off limits. The private infrastructure solution always looked interesting to me, but I'm missing any actual application ideas for that?

Always interesting to me to see how much "IT-first" educated people think that Fortran is a dead language. While when learning physics first you will quickly see how very much alive it still is (newest standard is "Fortran 20

Instead of calling them comments (which to me are very much not interpreted) maybe make "documentation" a first class object of the language instead?

Only way I could imagine this is if the text of the link had copyrighted information in it. But I have never seen Google link to spurious localhosts anyway (presumably they dont copy links into results but only show sites they were able to

He replied to that personally, let me try to repeat his argument (I cant find a link). He argued that giving advice to other people is completly accepted if the advice doesn't come from a mental health professional. (You'll find p

By default I would recommend tail -F with captilized F. This will reopen files after a log rotation automatically.

Yeah, sharing SSIDs isnt such a great idea. Check out https://wigle.net ... Obviously multiple people around the world use this one, but it narrows it down for dedicated people

For me assembly is formatted version of what my hardware can parse without further abstraction. Any other way everything is assembly. I can find an assembly C-compiler && I can find a C-python compiler == python is assembly... But I

not at all if you're not taking part in the data collection at all and are just sending noise on the channel. I guess chrome could counter DRM-signing the cohort-id or something

Can't privacy concious browser defeat FLoC simply by sending random cohort IDs on each request?

I, for one, am mostly preoccupied with the covert channel. That one sounds like it's pretty real.

The only surprising thing would be the pi-numbers. However the statistical evidence there isnt very strong. It's quite likely he looked at more than 400 series, so finding a 1 in 400-pattern in one of them is no surprise.
