LastPass is so buggy, I have a draft blog post that I'm going to publish some day listing the dozens of bugs I've found. It's still the least worse cross-platform password manager (with sharing and sync features) that I'

The next release, Django 1.11, will be a long-term support release, and the one after that, Django 2.0, will no longer support Python 2. https://www.djangoproject.com/weblog/2015/jun/25/roadmap/ I&#

I think drugs have a social component too. No one is addicted to drugs before trying them for the first time.

You have to admit that they are not trying to change the meaning of most of the words on the list, they just want to avoid using them.

The very confusing term "free software" isn't on this list, and that fact speaks volumes.

You need to expose yourself to more ideas, it's not at all unusual to disagree with that kind of summary.

`defer` has problems: http://stackoverflow.com/a/40535440/247696 There is no obvious easy way to wait for an `async` script to finish loading and executing before running code that depends on it. For instance, how

The beauty of Privacy Badger is that it does not block ads, instead it blocks anything that could track, based not on a centralized list, but based on websites' behaviour.

Are the start times on these YouTube links deliberate? Some of these link to the middle of the video, and I'm not sure why.

The article wasn't suggesting a three step process (1 enter username+password, 2 validate email 3 enter username+password), it was suggesting a two step process (1 validate email 2 enter username+password).

I'm guessing that the page gets skipped when you're on a familiar IP address with a familiar cookie, or there are other factors where the bank decides more authentication is unnecessary.

Complaining that pages are black because you disabled CSS is a legitimate complaint. Plenty of people need to modify or disable or ignore CSS for accessibility reasons.

I upvoted this story because it helpfully made me understand a lot more about TechCrunch than I have in the past. This read like a PR statement from an ISP, not like an article from any type of news source.

My opinion is that Persona was still untested, we will never know whether Persona was going to be it or not because they never launched the browser integration.

Such a shame. Persona was a hugely exciting project. It always disappointed me that Mozilla never fully implemented the vision of Persona integration in the browser, and it puzzles me that Mozilla seem surprised that Persona didn't get

And that's why no one is talking about forcing GitHub and Gitlab to do anything. They're merely complaining. Just because someone complains about something doesn't mean they think it is illegal or ought to be illegal.

Yes, but Facebook didn't dual-license this, they licensed it under a modified version of the BSD license. So it's that license or nothing. Edit: good point, gcp.

See my other comment on why this is not analogous to copyleft, and therfore the term 'patentleft' isn't very useful here.

I think it's understandable that Facebook want to be protected from the possibility that contributer X contributes code, and then sues Facebook for patent infringement, because the code X contributed was patented. This concern is wel

I'm not sure I agree that this is analogous to copyleft. Copyleft says that you must license all distributed dirivitives under the same license, but it doesn't affect any other code you produce, you could still sue Facebook for
