The way pacman installs new kernels by default is just replacing the old package with the new one. This is bad because if for some reason the new kernel package gets corrupted, the system will fail to boot, and you will have to arch-chroot

I agree with your points completely. Some tools are just better designed. I was talking about the premature opinions I had on these tools before I had even used them, or seen them in action. This is a problem as it limits my teamworking cap
