If the cask downloads directly from dropbox I would trust it. It's up to you who you feel comfortable trusting. If you have internal company stuff you don't want out keep it on a private intranet. This is the type of stuff Richard

Of course you should be concerned. You're installing a kernel extension from an unknown developer on the internet. Most people here are using npm which has thousands of malicious packages. I don't think they have a clue. https:&#

It wouldn't work. Foxconn produces 500k iPhones every day. They have a million employees and pay them $2/hr. That's only half of Apple's revenue. Given that Jobs wouldn't even give his own engineers stock in the com

The Oscars are from an era where you'd rent a movie based on what critics had to say. Critics are irrelevant today. We have IMDB and Netflix ratings. The utility is gone. Now it's just a bowling trophy for the sake of tradition.

It's like everything else in the JS world. A new solution to a solved problem. It takes more than an incremental improvement to outweigh the learning curve and development costs. New things should be an order of magnitude better. If a

Every time this discussion comes up on HN I get downvoted for being completely against adblock. It's crazy how far people will go to justify taking food off other people's plate. Usually the argument about tracking comes up. As if

Wasm is bleeding edge. AFAIK the only compatible UI library is Qt and support is not production ready. I have never needed package management in C++. There are gotchas with all languages, Lisp is not a panacea. Language verbosity is not bad

On the frontend. In a number of years. It's in its infancy. Instead of hacking a webpage to behave like software it actually will be software. So I'm pretty excited about the idea.

It's an opinionated subject. It's sort of like choosing the shiniest piece of trash at the landfill. Next.js works fine after you download 10 GB of packages from 10k strangers on the internet. Jekyll and 11ty are relatively simple

Every screenshot in this blog post showcases dated design paradigms. Flat UI was popularized around the release of Windows 10 in 2015. When I go through dribbble I see a lot of mediocre and copycat design. Design is about more than copying
