Interestingly it does seem to see right through the awning that's to the right of the roof. There appears to be a couple tables that are hiden from Google's satellite view but clearly visible to the bottom right of the building in

Exactly, if you restrict access based on degrees of separation, you're essentially restricting access to information by geography, which is sure to reinforce regional differences and radicalize people further by hiding dissenting opini

Surely that sort of individual character checking of passwords implies plaintext password storage. Seems reasonable not to go out of the way to support obscure insecure password entry methods.
