If you can't remember that the "silly" project has a "silly rule" in place, and you won't remember any time you look at "git log" results, then I really don't know what to tell you.

That's really it-- it's a waste of resources, but it's such a tiny amount that all these effects are almost free. There's no point in not having a little fluff that makes the experience a bit more fun.

RemoteAccess used that as the default Sysop page tune. It could be replaced, though.

As someone who ran a BBS for an extended period of time, DESQview (and obviously QEMM) was an essential part of daily life. It allowed for a lot of things that you'd take for granted today-- like logging into an additional local-only n

The former is definitely true. There are towns out there in the United States that are on an interstate and play games with their speed limits. You'll see a speed limit of 60-70 up until you hit city limits then it suddenly drops to 30

As far as I know, anything that they couldn't find an author on was eventually rewritten from scratch. That's the only time a name would be removed from a driver-- a complete redo.

MAMEdev hit this problem a few years back as well. Thankfully, the end result of code that needed to be ripped out and rewritten ended up being pretty small comparative to the whole project. A lot of that came down to there being no corpora

This. PC speaker was driven far beyond its original design and intention. Sound Blasters, and later built-in clones/compatibles, changed the general outlook of sound. You'll see a shift to Adlib/SB audio start around 1987-198

I wouldn't recommend VR for anyone under 12-13 or so. Eyes are still developing at that age and there's a possible chance of screwing up focus with extended VR use.
