I'd prefer to live in Switzerland. More economic and social freedom. Neither Russia nor China have too much social or economic freedom so honestly I just think the comparison doesn't make sense. Sure, someone at some point claimed

I agree, it's bullshit. Not only that, but monopolies are not a bad thing, as long as they are not government granted ones.

Of course, it's an industry so regulated by the government that it's very profitable for the few.

I didn't choose Russia as an example of economic and social freedom, you did. Russia is not high on the scale of social and economic freedom. In fact Russia has never ever been a democracy in its whole history. You want a better exampl

The ends don't justify the means, but justifying the means is socialism 101. Moreover, if they had liberalized both the economy and the social laws, economy would have grown even more.

Interesting, their names, "Navajo", "Pinto", "Padilla" suggest quite a lot of contact with Spanish conquerors before the English got there.

That was pretty obvious to me. When I studied in Sevilla, Spain, there were bike lanes everywhere, but they are segregated from traffic, at the sidewalk level. I felt quite safe, I can't say the same for London for example.

The US, by being where it is, it keeps other big players (like China) out. It's too naive in my opinion to think that if the US just gets out of everywhere, China or whomever wouldn't try to replace them. And that's why I wa

While all you said is true, I'd recommend to think of a plausible alternative. If the USA stops behaving as an Empire, what would actually happen? My guess is that China would become the global empire, to a higher level than right now.

The EU is acting as a single political body, that's good. The US requires a visa for visiting from the EU, thus the EU requires the same to USA visitors.

I would say that there's no Typescript tax. Rather, there's a Javascript tax for Typescript. As in, the shortcomings of Typescript only come from Javascript. Typescript is transpiled to Javascript, so types are not enforced on exe
