Maybe it's just me, but I never got around liking the jQuery documentation. Its not bad - but visually too heavy, not easy to navigate and the example code is often not very consistent. Counterexample: The lodash documentation. Sidenot

It would be so much easier to spot fake comments or highly controversial subjects if rating systems would also show how the rating is distributed. This shouldn't be very hard to implement, too.

If it's an DRM free ebook I'd understand your argument. But almost all ebooks you can buy have DRM and therefore you don't really own it, you can't lend it to friends etc. It's not just about the marginal cost and t

With RDBMS you have to design the schema first, with NoSQL you don't need to. This is nice when you're dealing with very diverse data (or data you don't even know how it'll look like) or are prototyping. One thing I like

Ok, you're right, and I wasn't completely sure myself when writing this sentence. There are cases (integration of web services, the overall architecture) when some difficulties from the web architecture swap over to the backend. B

Yes, the web is a very messy place. Maybe a kind of wild west of programming practices? But it's also a place where you can do a lot of things that no one has thought before. There are not many rules and a wide diversity of approaches.

Basically any database should do for this usecase. A simple key-value store probably best. I'd aim for keeping the technological complexity as low as possible. What is the simplest tool to do the job? Or maybe better yet: Use something

Great idea! I would love if this would be something like a independend, modular micro-services architecture you can easily and selectively deploy within your own network. Docker might be a good way to manage it.

This problem also applies to MediaWiki. They decided to internationalize pretty much everything, too. Not only functions are translated; the functionality of some URL parts also depends on the language - and you'll get a lot of duplica
