I work in the Energy/Utility field and just got back from a “Smart Gird” conference where smart meters (i.e. real time interval metering) was discussed at length. Although these types of devices are really cool to “energy geeks” like me, if

For some reason, this reminded me of a T.S Eliot quote: We shall not cease from exploration And the end of all our exploring Will be to arrive where we started And know the place for the first time. The funny thing is, I vaguel

Along the same lines, I had a professor who once said that you "can't have thoughts for that which you do not have words for". This refers more to vocabulary than writing, but I feel that there is some truth to it. Although the author may

Good post. Ideas are a dime a dozen - there was a post a while back that listed 99 ideas... Reminded me of a couple of good quotes: "A good plan violently executed now is better than a perfect plan executed next week." George S. Patton "A

You are right - I remember hearing/reading that one now too, but I can't remember who said it. (It may have even been Churchill or Oscar Wilde.)

You mention on your site that the servers are in "an N+1 redundant environment". Is it your own data center or is that outsourced? Also, I would second jgrahamc's question re: encrypted backups.
