I still have some hope as I see some group of people started to tackle this space in different angle. Stop approximation as a product, wrap approximation around logic and output the exact result. ChatGPT or Avatar AI is literally approximat

I still don't get it. We went from great backend languages with widgets approach on frontend to letting the whole shiny thing taking over the whole system and impose weakness here and there in architecture. My theory is that incompeten

I get what are saying, basically all the MIME types of body is under the grand scheme of server side rendering. Fine.

There are 2 things that are orthogonal in current trend. This SSR buzz is not actually selling Server Side Rendering, they are selling 'one language to rule them all' (they call this dumb name "isomorphic"). Therefore, t

It's a banger for docs type of site. All html partial pieces are pre-generated and put in cdn. Sort of like how search utilizes index stuff.

"open" triggers people to think the other way, but it's actually the same as what we know really well, it's a popular strategy among scammers. 'Look at my expensive sport car' this is a success, thus, building

All of the list and they also want to pay you $0. $20 sounds like a robbery. Meanwhile it costs 20 minutes of a freelance time.. for the whole product.

Yes, that's my question. My theory is that it's a vibe of incompetent technical leads who read too much tech twitter bubble. Since every thing is javascript there. There are numbers of really good business that's PHP based. R

I elaborate under the other comment. Htmx is good as long as there's not a lot of business value that needs highly interactive widgets. The whole thing is highly interactive sounds like a attempt silver bullet. The isomorphic invention

The technical lead needs to explain and link between highly interactive widget to business value. Breaking down feature/value to pieces and link each to what type of widget it needs. JS frameworks always sell like lets build the whole

I don't think there's going to be apocalypse. The situation is bounded by non-tech activity of human. Human still eat, sick, stress (needs entertainment), socializing (buy stuff to show off). There's going to be tech jobs to

I still believe good old sever-side rendering + js sprinkle is still the best business value for the buck. Our industry seems to not have analysis on engineering cost compute with business value.

Sympathized. I'm not losing that amount of cash but damage of wasted 3 years time is enough to destroy a soul. You also can't stop thinking about $300k opportunity cost (lost).

People seem to have expectation that it needs to be 100% nice and clean arrangement. Just like clean code, it's fine as long as you can find stuff, add more stuff to it and all are still easily to find and add.

Sounds pretty bad to me given tech stack most companies have adopted so far. CTO or technical leads are pretty much incompetent. We seem to give up engineering metrics to "hiring pool" or hype or fad or big guys do it or whatever
